A descriptive quantitative survey was conducted on 40 households within a 500-meter radius of the farm, categorized into three zones based on proximity. Perceptions were measured across environmental, economic, and social aspects using a Likert scale. The results showed that the community agreed the farm had negative environmental impacts, such as strong odour and poor waste management, with perceptions varying significantly by proximity. From an economic perspective, residents noted advantages, including reduced egg prices and increased consumption. Nonetheless, perceptions were consistent across different areas, suggesting that the farm acts as an economic enclave with minimal integration into the broader community. From a social perspective, the community demonstrated differing opinions regarding the positive impacts on employment, social assistance, and compensation, with no significant spatial variations. This highlights a lack of social responsibility initiatives. The Kruskal-Wallis test revealed substantial differences in environmental perceptions among zones for odour and waste, but not for water pollution and cleanliness. No significant zonal differences were found for economic and social aspects. This study emphasizes the importance of understanding and integrating community perceptions into sustainable livestock development to ensure alignment with local needs, values, and expectations.
2025-11-24T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Andi Muhammad Alif Zalzabila, Vidyahwati Tenrisanna, Muh Ridwan, Kasmiyati Kasim https://jurnal-umsi.ac.id/index.php/agribisnis/article/view/1039 Integration of Digital Finance, Contract Farming, and Supply Chain Finance: Empirical Evidence from Smallholder Oil Palm Farmers in West Kalimantan 2025-11-09T14:56:10+00:00 Nugra Irianta Denashurya ndenashurya@faperta.untan.ac.id Muhamad Noor Azizu ndenashurya@faperta.untan.ac.id
The agricultural sector in Indonesia, particularly the oil palm industry, faces persistent challenges in improving smallholder welfare, stabilizing income, and ensuring financial inclusion. Smallholder oil palm farmers in West Kalimantan often experience limited access to formal financial services, price volatility, and cash flow instability due to weak market linkages and dependence on middlemen. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the adoption of digital financial services, contract farming arrangements, and access to supply chain financing among smallholder oil palm farmers in West Kalimantan. Using a mixed-method approach, quantitative data were obtained from 210 smallholder farmers through structured questionnaires, while qualitative insights were gathered through in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, including cooperatives, off-takers, and financial institutions. The results show that the implementation of digital financial technology (fintech) significantly increases farmers’ access to supply chain financing through improved financial literacy, transaction transparency, and digital credit scoring mechanisms. Furthermore, contract farming serves as an effective intermediary that strengthens the trust between farmers and financial institutions, thereby reducing financing risks. The integration of these three instruments, digital finance, contract farming, and supply chain finance, creates a synergistic model that supports sustainable palm oil production, enhances smallholders’ income stability, and reduces transaction inefficiencies across the value chain. This research provides new empirical evidence on the importance of integrated digital financial ecosystems in supporting the resilience and competitiveness of smallholder farmers. Policy recommendations include the need for stronger institutional collaboration, digital infrastructure development, and the establishment of inclusive financial platforms tailored to smallholder characteristics.
2025-11-24T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Nugra Irianta Denashurya, Muhamad Noor Azizu https://jurnal-umsi.ac.id/index.php/agribisnis/article/view/1019 Consumer Preferences and Attitudes in Purchasing Cavendish Bananas of the “Sunpride” Brand at Lotte Mart Pakuwon Mall Surabaya (Fishbein Multiattribute Model Approach) 2025-10-14T17:52:20+00:00 Meimy Ratnakanyaka anyaratna21@gmail.com Hamidah Hendrarini hamidah_h@upnjatim.ac.id Ika Sari Tondang ika.sari.agribis@upnjatim.ac.id
The growth of fresh fruit consumption in Indonesia, especially bananas, is influenced by public awareness of health and product quality. The research method used is quantitative with primary data collection through questionnaires and interviews with 100 respondents, then analyzed using descriptive analysis and the Fishbein multi-attribute technique covering seven attributes (color, taste, price, size, freshness, number of bananas per bunch and type of banana). The results show that the majority of consumers are women, productive age 20-43 years, have a bachelor's degree, are self-employed, and have a high income. The most considered banana attribute is freshness (Ao= 3.42), followed by sweetness (Ao= 2.80) and yellowish-green color (Ao= 2.70), while price, type, and size are secondary considerations. This indicates that consumers prioritize fruit quality over attributes such as price. This study aims to identify the risks encountered by palm sugar businesses in Mamuju Regency and to analyze their severity levels. The research focuses on uncertainties arising from internal and external factors, including raw material availability, production processes, marketing, financial access, and environmental and social aspects. This study employed a descriptive-exploratory method with a mixed-methods approach. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews, observations, and closed-ended questionnaires involving eight purposively selected respondents. The analysis applied the Risk Matrix, with scores calculated as the product of probability and impact. Risks were then categorized into four levels: low, medium, high, and extreme. Data validity was strengthened through source triangulation and expert judgment from academics and related institutions. The findings identified 13 major risks. Extreme risks included reduced sap supply during the dry season (score 16) and declining market demand (score 20). High-level risks involved equipment damage, price fluctuations, limited access to capital, and extreme weather. Medium risks included inconsistent sap quality, adulteration of raw materials, and conflicts among tappers. Low-level risks were related to delayed payments and workplace accidents. The study concludes that external risks are more dominant than internal risks in determining business sustainability. Comprehensive mitigation strategies are therefore required, including equipment modernization, quality standardization, market diversification, process innovation, and improved access to capital, to enhance the competitiveness of palm sugar as a leading local product.
2025-12-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Sri Dewi Purnamasari, Syamsul Rahman, Helda Ibrahim https://jurnal-umsi.ac.id/index.php/agribisnis/article/view/1027 Forecasting Red Cayenne Chili Prices to Maintain Inflation Stability in West Nusa Tenggara 2025-11-02T12:06:12+00:00 Sab'ul Masani Sab'ulmasani@staff.unram.ac.id Daeva Mubarika Raisa daevamubarika@gmail.com Dyah Ayu Suryaningrum sab'ulmasani@staff.unram.ac.id Ade Rezkika Nasution sab'ulmasani@staff.unram.ac.id Yousf Bellin Swarli sab'ulmasani@staff.unram.ac.id
Inflation is a key challenge in economic management because it directly influences purchasing power, living costs, and price stability. In West Nusa Tenggara Province, red cayenne pepper is a volatile food commodity and a major contributor to regional inflation due to sharp price fluctuations and high consumption. This study aims to develop a price forecasting model for red cayenne pepper using the Triple Exponential Smoothing (Holt–Winters) method, which accounts for level, trend, and seasonal components to reflect dynamic price movements. The study uses monthly red cayenne pepper price data from January 2022 to June 2025 sourced from the National Food Agency. Descriptive analysis is applied to identify price characteristics and movement patterns, while inferential analysis is used to estimate the forecasting model. The smoothing parameters α, β, and γ are optimized using EViews and Microsoft Excel to determine the best model specification. The results show that the optimal parameters are α = 0.1, β = 0.3, and γ = 0.3. The model successfully captures seasonal price behavior and achieves a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 37.54% and a Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) of 25,557.5, indicating acceptable forecasting performance for a volatile commodity. Forecasts for July 2025 to June 2026 indicate substantial price variability, with the lowest projected price occurring in October 2025 at IDR 58,862.32 per kilogram and the highest in March 2026 at IDR 145,004.93 per kilogram. Focusing on co-authorship, corresponding authorship, and citation networks, the analysis compares the pre-SDG (1990–2014) and SDG (2015–2025) periods. The findings show that, despite expanded international collaboration and increased participation from the Global South in the SDG era, epistemic leadership and citation visibility remain highly concentrated within Global North institutions. While Global South contributions have grown, their largely peripheral positioning limits their influence over dominant sustainability framings. Using a quantitative survey complemented by qualitative field observations, data were collected from 82 maize farmers selected through stratified random sampling. Four variables were examined: (1) effectiveness of extension services, (2) adoption of site-specific maize cultivation technologies, (3) integration of maize–goat farming, and (4) maize productivity. Results indicate extension performance is moderate, constrained by infrequent visits and limited use of field demonstrations. Technology adoption is also moderate; farmers readily adopt low-cost practices such as improved row spacing and organic fertiliser, but show low uptake of key soil and water conservation measures, including mulching, minimum tillage, and balanced fertilisation, which are crucial for sandy soils. The maize–goat integration index shows strong use of goat manure and maize residues, yet integration remains traditional and falls short of zero-waste nutrient cycling. Regression analysis shows technology adoption has the strongest effect on productivity, followed by farming-system integration and extension performance. Overall productivity remains low due to partial agronomic innovation uptake and suboptimal livestock-resource integration. The study recommends a more intensive, site-specific, and integrated extension model that prioritises soil conservation technologies aligned with existing maize–goat practices to strengthen sustainable maize production in small-island dryland agroecosystems. Differences in perception are often influenced by farmers’ experiences, values, and ability to access digital technology. This study aims to analyze farmers’ perceptions of social media–based agricultural extension and to evaluate changes in their knowledge and attitudes after participating in such activities. The research was conducted in Tenrigangkae Village, Mandai District, Maros Regency, using a survey method by distributing questionnaires to members of the Minasa Baji farmer group. Data were analyzed using the Likert scale to measure perceptions and the Spearman Rank test to assess correlations among variables, while changes were evaluated using the Wilcoxon test with SPSS 20 software. The results showed that farmers’ perceptions of social media–based agricultural extension were categorized as fairly good, with a percentage score of 66%. All innovation attributes—relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, observability, and trialability—were very strongly correlated with farmers’ perceptions (Spearman’s rho > 0.80, p < 0.01) The evaluation revealed an increase of 24.6% in knowledge and 42.3% in attitude, with a total effectiveness of 62.45%. This study offers a novel contribution by integrating innovation attributes with a pre–post evaluation of farmers’ knowledge and attitudes in social media–based agricultural extension.
2025-12-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Samaria Samaria, Nurul Afiza, Ramli Ramli, Arief Sirajuddin, Tri Septiani, Sema Sema
