A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation involving district officials and service users. The findings indicate that the implementation of e-government in Pahandut District has performed reasonably well, supported by adequate technological infrastructure, improved bureaucratic competence, and a generally positive public response toward digital services. Nevertheless, several challenges persist, including unstable internet connectivity, limited supporting facilities, and the incomplete integration of inter-agency systems. Overall, e-government has contributed positively to enhancing the efficiency and transparency of public services. This study underscores the importance of strengthening human resource capacity, maintaining digital infrastructure, and improving inter-agency coordination to ensure more optimal and inclusive e-government implementation at the local level
2025-12-10T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Government Insight https://jurnal-umsi.ac.id/index.php/jgi/article/view/1049 Analysis of the Effectiveness of Educational Personnel Performance at the Basic Instructional Skills Improvement Service Center 2025-11-08T10:03:29+08:00 Muhammad Irvan Nur Iva m.irvan.nuriva@unm.ac.id Rahayu Rahayu rahayu@unm.ac.id Herman H hermandody@unm.ac.id Andi Asrivan andi.asrifan@unm.ac.idh Muhammad Ibnu Kafsir Sudding 23summer.feb@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the performance of educational staff at the Center for Basic Instructional Skills Development (PEKERTI), Universitas Negeri Makassar, and to identify the factors that influence it. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document reviews, then analyzed descriptively through the stages of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the performance effectiveness of educational staff at the PEKERTI Unit is considered fairly effective, although it has not yet reached an optimal level. performance effectiveness is influenced by three groups of factors: individual factors, psychological factors, and organizational factors. The main constraint in individual factors is the limited digital technical skills. From the psychological aspect, work motivation is relatively high but not yet supported by a well-structured reward system. Meanwhile, from the organizational perspective, cross-department coordination and digital system support still need to be strengthened. Overall, improving the performance effectiveness of educational staff at the PEKERTI Unit requires synergy among the enhancement of individual competencies, the strengthening of motivation, and institutional support that is adaptive to technological developments
2025-12-15T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Government Insight https://jurnal-umsi.ac.id/index.php/jgi/article/view/1059 The Principle of Pluriversality in the Indigenous Peoples Recognition Policy 2025-11-18T00:51:40+08:00 Armansyah armansyahdore85@gmail.com Alwi Alwi alwi@unhas.ac.id Muh. This principle offers an alternative perspective to the dominance of single state sovereignty, emphasizing the importance of recognizing the existence of local socio-political systems, including institutional structures and customary law. Using an exploratory case study methodology, this research examines the process of identification, verification, and validation of indigenous communities by the local government. The findings indicate that the policy of recognizing indigenous peoples is normatively quite progressive through the establishment of an Indigenous Peoples Commission. However, its implementation remains hampered by bureaucracy, minimal institutional capacity, and budget constraints. This study emphasizes that respect for diversity is a crucial decolonial step in improving state-indigenous peoples relations. However, political and administrative dynamics remain more dominant than the substance of recognition, resulting in a slow process of restructuring these relations and not yet fully reflecting a commitment to the plurality of knowledge systems and local governance practices
2025-12-10T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Government Insight https://jurnal-umsi.ac.id/index.php/jgi/article/view/1095 Local Government Strategies in Preventing Child Marriage: A Study of the Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Office of Sinjai Regency 2026-02-06T06:25:07+08:00 A Mulawangsa mulawangsa3@gmail.com Jusni jusni@gmail.com Jamaluddin jamaluddin@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the strategy of the Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Office (DP3AP2KB) of Sinjai Regency in reducing the incidence of child marriage. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving key informants, including the Head of DP3AP2KB, the Head of the Child Protection Division, the Head of the Office of Religious Affairs, and community representatives. Data analysis was conducted using thematic procedures consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the main strategies implemented include the establishment of Community-Based Integrated Child Protection (PATBM), periodic monitoring and evaluation, and intensified socialization regarding the risks of child marriage and the importance of child rights protection. Nevertheless, the implementation still encounters obstacles, particularly low public awareness and the uneven establishment of PATBM across villages. The novelty of this study lies in the comprehensive mapping of child marriage prevention strategies by emphasizing cross-sectoral collaboration and structured monitoring mechanisms. These findings imply that strengthening village-level institutions, expanding PATBM coverage, and enhancing community-based educational programs are crucial to achieving more effective and sustainable child marriage prevention in Sinjai Regency.
2025-12-12T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Government Insight https://jurnal-umsi.ac.id/index.php/jgi/article/view/1098 The Oversight Function of the Regional House of Representatives on Regional Development: An Empirical Study in Makassar City 2026-02-07T01:26:28+08:00 Basdir basdirmo@gmail.com Bachtiar bachtiar@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the implementation of the supervisory function of the Makassar City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) in regional development and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing its effectiveness. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach with a census method involving all 50 members of the Makassar City DPRD as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The findings indicate that the supervisory function of the DPRD is conducted through the use of institutional rights such as interpellation, inquiry, and the right to express opinions. The effectiveness of supervision is supported by cooperation between the executive and legislative branches, which strengthens the checks and balances mechanism. However, limitations remain in internal control mechanisms and systematic preventive supervision. The study highlights that strengthening institutional capacity and transparency is crucial to improving legislative oversight in regional development governance.
2025-12-12T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Government Insight
